Determination

Detemination:
Determination is simply not giving up. No matter how hard things get, or how badly you want to just give up, you keep on going. Sometimes you just want to let go, when it seems like what you’re going for is just out of reach, sometimes you tell yourself if what you’re trying to get is worth the great amount of effort that you put in it. When things get hard, you start thinking that its not worth it, and you just want to let it go, but let me tell you this, the more pain and suffering you put into something, the better it'll feel when you get it.

I worked out on Saturday after taking a week off (which I will never do again). I can usually run 3 miles with no problem, but my legs felt so weak I had to push really hard to hit 2 miles. My husband kept telling me to get off the treadmill because I was in pain, but all I could think is.. "No, this is my fault.. I have to keep going. I have to at least hit 2 miles."

Once I hit my goal, I jumped off the treadmill and fell to the floor. I was so proud of myself for pushing myself to the goal. No mater how bad it hurt.. my determination helped me reach the end.

Compliments

Many people get impatient when it comes to results. They get tired of looking in the mirror and not seeing any changes. I can understand these frustrations, because there is one part of my body I have worked on for YEARS, and have never seen a change, BUT what you see and what otheres see are two different things. Alot of people struggle with "looking past" what they used to look like to see the new them, so when someone tells you, "you look great," or, "you look like you have been losing weight." BELIEVE THEM !! I know from personal experience this is a hard thing to do, and I have worked for years to start believing people when they say these things to me. I can tell you that now when I look in the mirror I still have issues and may not see the what others see, but I do see me, the me that I love. I no longer pick at myself for what I think I look like, I can see the real me.

Exercise is hard work, both physically and mentally. So know that when you work out, even if you don't see the results right away, don't give up, because someone out there is saying, "Damn.. You look good."

Self-esteem is defined as " The experience of being capable of meeting life's challenges and being worthy of happiness. "

Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is something that so many parents try to ignore, or look the other way. Parents nees to realize what their child is eating on a daily basis, or how active they are. Many parents tend to blame food or laziness, and ignore the fact that their child may be overweight due to a health issue. Childhood obesity is NOT something we can ignore anymore.
  • Childhood obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years.
  • The percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 20% in 2008. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 12–19 years who were obese increased from 5% to 18% over the same period.
  • In 2008, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese.
  • Overweight is defined as having excess body weight for a particular height from fat, muscle, bone, water, or a combination of these factors. Obesity is defined as having excess body fat.
  • Overweight and obesity are the result of “caloric imbalance”—too few calories expended for the amount of calories consumed—and are affected by various genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors

    Fear

Fear and Fitness go hand and hand on many days. People fear they can't do what is needed to lose weight, or they fear they don't have the will power to keep going. So many people are constantly telling themselves, "I Can't," when they should be pushing themselves to the limit and saying, "I Can."

Fear can get in the way of success. It can stop you from accomplishing your dreams. Fear is scary, and it can overwhelm so many people. Fear is an emotion, which means you can control it. When you feel fear starting to take over your mind, you need to push it aside and show it that you control your body and mind, not it. Every day when you walk into the gym, or your put your shoes on to go work out give yourself a goal. Give yourself a BIG goal, and when your body starts to tell you "I Can't," then stand up and scream "YES I CAN !!" No More Excuses !!

    Motivation

Today we talk about motivation. I'm sitting here at work wandering if I can motivate myself to workout when I get home. I keep repeating to myself, "Yes  you will do it, Yes you can do it." At the same time I hear my body saying, "NOOOOOOOOOO."

People deal with this problem on a daily basis, and I all I can say is, don't let your negative, lazy thoughts take over your motivated side. You have to make yourself get up, and work out. Walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes, run a mile around the block, do some jumping jacks and squats.. It really doesn't matter what it is as long as you stay active and you do something everyday. Sometimes when I'm walking across a room, or down the hallway I find myself doing lunges on each step. It may not be a lot, but it is something and it makes me feel better. So NO MORE EXCUSES... just enjoy your life and be active.
